Boeing ahead of Airbus in plane orders


(MENAFN) Airbus and Boeing both surpassed 1.000 new jet orders in the January-August period, but Boeing stayed ahead in the number of planes delivered this year, thus keeping its title as the world's largest plane maker, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

Airbus,the plane making subsidiary of Airbus Group, sold 21 aircraft in August, thus bringing its total gross orders for the year thus far to 1.001 aircraft.

On the other hand, Boeing Company registered 107 orders in the same month, bringing its total gross orders for the year to 1.004.

Meanwhile, Airbus reported 722 net orders between January and August, compared to 941 net orders for Boeing in the same period.
