Germany's industry orders rise 4.6 percent in July

(MENAFN) German industrial orders rose at their strongest rate in more than a year in July, increasing by a 4.6 percent compared to June in orders, Gulf Daily News reported.

The increase is mainly attributed to rising orders from countries outside the Eurozone, which registered an increase by 14.6 percent in orders for capital goods.

This growth indicates a good sign for Germany, which its GDP dropped in the April-June period, falling 0.2 percent compared to the first quarter of this year.

"After the uncertainty caused by geopolitical developments and a weaker economy in the second quarter, the strong rise in orders is an encouraging signal for the industrial economy," the Ministry of Economy said.
