Suicide Bombers Attack Intelligence Office in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- QNA) A group of suicide bombers launched coordinated attacks the National Directorate of security (NDS) office in southeastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan.

According to local officials, the attack was launched early Thursday morning and at least two heavy blasts took place near the NDS compound in Ghazni city.

The officials further added that the attack was carried out on Thursday morning by a group of 13 suicide bombers, according to the Afghan Khaama Press.

Provincial security chief, Asadullah Insafi, said militants attacked the intelligence compound and headquarter of the rapid reaction forces which continued for almost one hour.

In the meantime, provincial governor spokesman, Shafiq Nang confirmed that two members of the security personnel along with 13 militants were killed and 50 others were injured following the explosion and gun battle.

Taliban group spokesman, Zabiullah Muhahid, said the attack was carried out with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device on NDS office in Ghazni city.
