MAF to invest USD70m in expanding City Centre Muscat


(MENAFN) UAE-based mall operator Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) announced investing USD70 million in the second phase expansion of its mall in Oman, City Centre Muscat, Gulf Business reported.

The expansion project, which will introduce 60 additional shopping and dining options in a 10,000sqm of new retail space, is set to begin later this year and is expected to be completed in 2015.

City Centre Muscat recently completed the first phase of its redevelopment, at a cost of USD21.49 million and included the opening of a 10-screen VOX Cinemas and enhancements made to Magic Planet and its food court dining area.

"City Centre Muscat's expansion and redevelopment will set a new standard of shopping mall excellence with unique retail, modernized surroundings and exciting new leisure options," Executive Managing Director for Shopping Malls at MAF Properties said.
