Iran and US Hold Talks over Nuclear Program


(MENAFN- QNA) Bilateral talks between the US and Iran on the latter's nuclear program began Thursday in Geneva.

The Iranian negotiation team will be led by Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi. On the other side, US Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman will lead the US side. The talks are in the framework of the 5+1 group.

Iranian Press TV reported today that the talks will take place over the course of three days, aiming to reach an agreement on Iran's nuclear program. The 5+1 group was formed in 2006 of the UN Security Council, United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, China plus Germany with the goal of reaching a diplomatic resolution to the dispute over Iran's nuclear program.
