French PM to visit Tunisia next week


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) French Prime Minister Manuel Valls will travel to Tunisia for a two-day visit on September 7-8 when he will meet with senior government officials and take part in a conference to promote investment in the Maghreb country.

The Prime Minister will hold talks with his Tunisian counterpart Mehdi Jomaa, President Mocef Marzuki and Parliament Speaker Mustafa Ben Jaafar, Valls's office said in a statement on Wednesday. Vall is also scheduled to meet with civil society and economic actors during the visit.

"This trip will be an opportunity to review all of the relationship between France and Tunisia and to praise the exemplary, Tunisian transition," the statement said.

Valls will be accompanied on the voyage by Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and Junior Trade Minister Thomas Thevenoud.

Both sides will inaugurate the conference called "Invest in Tunisia, Start-Up Democracy" being jointly organised.
