(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) As part of its bank-wide coverage to encourage saving habits among citizens and also to promote the Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme 2014 Bank Sohar recently hosted its RO5000 weekly draw under the scheme at its Shinas branch. 

. The weekly draw took place on August 28.  This draw marked the 19th weekly draw the bank has conducted in various branches and locations across the sultanate with the aim of covering all 25 branch locations before the special scheme for year 2014 comes to a close.

The RO5000 weekly draw at Shinas was presided over by Sheikh Ali Mohammed Ahmed al Balushi one of Bank Sohar's VIP customers from the Shinas Branch.  Abdullah al Mahmoodi chief manager events and promotions and Badriya al Jahwari branch manager Shinas welcomed the chief guest who conducted the weekly RO5000 electronic draw to announce the name of the winner F A al Ruheili from the Bank's Sohar branch. Bank Sohar's customers and other senior staff members were also present at the event to witness the draw.

The event was inaugurated by Thuraiya al Hashmi from the bank's retail liabilities unit who gave an overview of the Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme.

R Narasimhan DGM and head of retail banking said 'Bank Sohar has consistently been at the helm of innovative banking and has been on a constant drive to find better ways of instilling savings habits in customers and the population at large. In fact with an attractive prize structure encompassing a wider pool of customers and a significantly larger number of draws our 2014 Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme has been extremely well received; with many increasing their savings to make the most of our RO1000 daily and RO5000 weekly prize draws whilst also having the chance to participate in other larger draws comprising the RO50000 monthly draws and more than half of a million in year-end draws.'

Having already passed the half-way mark with the half-yearly draw held in the month of July Bank Sohar is gearing up for the home stretch and the grand finale of this year's Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme.

For the remainder of 2014 Bank Sohar will be continuing with its five-hourly prizes of RO1000 every day from Sunday to Wednesday RO5000 weekly prize draws and monthly draws with a prize pool of RO50000. These will culminate with the highly anticipated year-end Grand Prize Draw with a prize pool of over half a million rials with one lucky saver winning RO500000; one exclusive winner receiving RO 50000 and one lucky minor receiving RO5000.
