(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The Consumer Protection Administration in Barka has helped a complainant get a refund of RO9600 from a dealer who had sold him a vehicle with manufacturing defects.

A press release stated that after investigations officials from the administration contacted the dealer who agreed to take the vehicle back refund RO9600 which the buyer had paid as down payment and also return the post-ded cheques against installments.

Article 11 of the Consumer Protection Law promulgated by Royal Decree 81/2002 states 'The consumer within ten days from purchasing any good except the perishable ones has the right to replace or return such goods and recover its price if they prove to be defective provided that he produces proof of purchase and that the defect is not a result of misuse by the consumer.'
