More than 100 Omani companies to showcase products at OPEX 2014


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) As part of the campaign to promote locally manufactured products abroad the Third Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX 2014) is all set to take place in Dubai United Arab Emirates during the period from 14 to 16 September 2014.

The organising committee for OPEX which comprises the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development is undertaking significant efforts to organise this exhibition which will consist of 140 stalls on an area estimated at 4000 sqm informed Eng. Basim bin Ali al Nassri director general of marketing and media at PEIE and member of the organising committee for OPEX.

Nassri noted that around 100 local companies have already confirmed their participations in the expo alongside ten SMEs and five handicraft projects.

"There will be a wide range of high quality Omani products comprising food and beverages pharmaceuticals furniture aluminum products metals plastic products construction materials marbles textiles and fabrics leather goods perfumes and cosmetics fertilizers agriculture logistics among others" Nassri pointed out.

He added "Dubai is on the verge of several giant projects that require large amounts of raw materials and primary products especially that it will host Expo 2020 which is being held each five years for a period of six months and attracts millions of visitors from all over the world.

Furthermore Dubai recently announced the project of Mall of the World which will be the world's largest mall welcoming more than 180mn of visitors annually."
