UAE corporate earnings up 31.2 percent in H1


(MENAFN) UAE corporate earnings grew 31.2 percent to reach USD9 billion during the January-June period, compared to USD6.86 billion in the same period last year, thus registering the best growth among the GCC corporates, Emirates 24/7 reported.

Dubai's corporate earnings grew 50.7 percent to USD3.3bn in the first half of 2014, led by banks 43.2 percent, real Estate and construction, which registered a 71.8, and Investment and financial services up by 160.9 percent.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi's corporate earnings increased 22 percent on year to hit USD5.7bn in the cited period, driven by a 13.4 percent rise in the Banking sector's earnings which grew by 55.1 percent in earnings to USD3.2 billion in the first half of this year.

Telecommunication also rose during the first half, in its earnings by 19.2 percent compared to last year, while the Energy sector was up 207.6 percent and the services sector, increased by 59.4 percent on year.
