Japan's PM Indian Counterpart Agree to Strengthen Relations

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tokyo September 02 (QNA) - Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida hailed Tuesday the agreement reached yesterday between the leaders of Japan and India to strengthen security ties in the face of an assertive China Japan's News agency (Kyodo) reported. Kishida was referring to the decision by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi during a summit in Tokyo to "seek ways to intensify" a security consultative framework involving the countries' vice foreign and defense ministers though they stopped short of upgrading it to ministerial level as some had speculated. India runs the 2+2 vice-ministerial dialogue only with Japan but has no such dialogue at ministerial level with any country according to Kishida. (QNA)
