Swiss Economy Stalls in Second Quarter of 2014


(MENAFN- QNA) Switzerland’s gross domestic product (GDP) unexpectedly stalled in the second quarter of 2014, official data showed Tuesday.

Swiss GDP was expected to rise by 0.5%, however the reading came in at 0.0%, according to the report released by the Federal Statistical Office.

Year-on-year, the Swiss economy was supposed to register a growth of 1.7%. However, it managed only to grow by 0.6%. Growth during the previous quarter was a healthy 2.1%.
