Kia Motor's sales drop 3 percent in August

(MENAFN) Kia Motors Corporation, South Korea's second largest automaker, announced that its August sales dropped 3 percent compared to the same month last year, QNA reported.

The automaker attributed the drop to partial labor strikes which affected the company's domestic production by decreasing the production of cars for overseas by 10.7 percent, however, production at Kia's foreign plants went up 5.2 percent to 106.430 cars.

Compared to July when the company's sales surged to 262.517 units, sales in August dropped 17.2 percent. Overseas sales also were down 17.6 percent, while domestic numbers decreased 14.9 percent.
