(MENAFN- QNA) Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived Monday in Brussles to start talks with High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy for the European Union Catherine Ashton.

Iranian news agency Mehrnews reported today that the two officials will discuss the progress of the 5+1 meeting, an initiative established to try and reach a settlement over Iran's nuclear program.

Iran will hold new talks with the 5+1 group, which includes the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany. The talks will take place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, which will begin September 16.
