Tokyo Stocks End Higher on Monday


(MENAFN- QNA) Tokyo stocks ended higher Monday as investor sentiment was lifted by gains on Wall Street on Friday and the yen's weakness against the US dollar.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 52.01 points, or 0.34%, from Friday at 15,476.60, Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency reported today. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 5.09 points, or 0.4%, higher at 1,283.06.

Gainers were led by construction, glass and ceramics as well as nonferrous metal shares.
