S. Korea's August exports edge down 0.1 percent

(MENAFN) According to a government report, South Koreas exports edged down in August on lower business days, while daily average exports increased on strong demand, Xinhua reported.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said that exports, which account for about half of the economy, decreased slightly by 0.1 percent in August to USD46.28 billion.

The decline comes as working days declined by a day compared with a year earlier, in addition to a partial strike at Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors, the country's top two automakers.
