China Railway's net profit up 16.42 percent in H1


(MENAFN) China Railway Group Limited posted an increase of its net profit for the first six month of the year of 16.42 percent over a year earlier, Xinhua reported.

The company recorded a net profit of USD660.9 million in the January-June period of the year, while revenue reached USD44.8 billion for the cited period.

Revenue showed an increase of 11.93 percent compared to the same period a year ago, the company said in a statement citing its outlook.

The good performance was attributed to the government's renewed focus on infrastructure building including railway construction, as part of efforts to boost the economy.
