Imrans march prompted by secret message claims Javed Hashmi


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Hashmi said he warned Imran Khan that his move might lead to bloodshed and pave the way for military takeover for which he would always be held responsible.In a significant rupture within PTI party president Javed Hashmi on Sunday said chairman Imran Khan overruled a unanimous decision by the PTI’s core committee not to advance towards Prime Minister’s House on Saturday night.

Hashmi said he warned Imran Khan that his move might lead to bloodshed and pave the way for military takeover for which he would always be held responsible.

Clarifying that he was not revolting from the party and continued to be its president Hashmi said workers should ask Khan why did he change the unanimous decision. He sad Khan received some calls during the meeting and was also conveyed a message by Shaikh Rashid Ahmed which pushed him to overrule a unanimous decision.

“Imran Khan had assured the party of not moving ahead towards the Prime Minister House...until Shaikh Raheed brought a message with someone”.

Imran then said that the situation required us to move forward to which “I had differences” Hashmi said.

A PTI’s team was engaged in talks with the government till 6pm and the government was supposed to get back to us Hashmi said. He said the PTI team decided that the party will apprise Imran of its views — all party leaders were in the loop on this. Almost all party leaders agreed that we didn’t want to go ahead from where we were.

PTI had decided that it won’t march ahead and Imran committed to me and the entire party and it was decided but some 20 minutes after the decision was taken Imran backtracked and said we had to go ahead Hashmi said.

Earlier a PTI team negotiating with the government had reported good progress in talks and promised another round on Sunday.
