Qatar Exchange Index Gains 153.50 Points


Propelled by telecommunications and transport shares, Qatar Exchange index gained 153.50 points (+1.14%) when trading closed Sunday at 13,596.66 points.

The trading value reached QR 956.75 Million with a volume of 17,499,797 shares from 8,467 transactions today.

The market capitalization reached QR 721.181 Billion today.

The telecoms sector index was up 7.9% to 1,569.92 points while transport sector was up 3.7% to 2,296.35 points.

Real estate, consumer goods and services, and insurance sectors indices also gained today.

Banking, finance and industries indices went down slightly today.

From the 43 listed companies, 22 gained today, 11 went down and eight remained unchanged.

Masraf Al Rayan made good gains today, up +6.35% to QR 55.30.

Qatar National Bank share went down -4.21% when it closed at QR 193.50 from Thursday's closing at QR 202.00. Qatar Islamic Bank went down -2.35% when it closed at QR 116.20.

Telecom operator Vodafone Qatar share jumped +9.88% to close at QR 21.25 while Ooredoo gained +7.17% when it closed at QR 122.50.

Qatar Navigation led transport sector with a fair gain of +5.84% when it closed at QR 94.20. Nakilat share was up +2.85% to QR 24.17.
