US Army Drops Humanitarian to Iraqi Besieged Town


US aircraft dropped yesterday humanitarian aid to the besieged Iraqi town of Amirli which has been under siege by fighters of Daash organization who prevented the entry of water, food and medicine into the town.

Press Secretary of the US Defence Department (Pentagon) John Kerry said "At the request of the government of Iraq, the United States military today airdropped humanitarian aid to the town of Amirli." "The United States Air Force delivered this aid alongside aircraft from Australia, France and the United Kingdom, who also dropped much needed supplies," Kerry added.

Yesterday, the pentagon announced that US jetfighters waged fresh attacks on position of Daash near the strategic dam of Mosul in northern Iraq, adding that the operation was aimed at supporting the Kurdish and Iraqi forces as well as protecting vital infrastructure facilities and US crews and installations.
