A man was charged with a religiously-motivated 'assault by beating' on British MP George Galloway, British police said on Saturday.
The BBC reported that the accused Neil Matterson 39 would appear in court on Monday.
Galloway , pro-Palestinian, left the hospital after receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the wake of an assault on one of West London streets.
Galloway, who represents a party (Respect) in the British Parliament, was preparing to take a picture with some passers-by, when the accused jumped towards Galloway and directed him with punches, which led to severe bruising to his head.
A spokesman for the British MP, 'The attack on Galloway came because of his position on Israel and support for Palestinian cause'.
