EU Names Tusk President, Mogherini High Representative


European Union (EU) Summit in Brussels chose Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk as the President of the EU Council to succeed Herman Van Rompuy.

The EU leaders also named Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini, who is 41, as the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs to succeed Catherine Ashton.

Tusk, 57, will serve for two-and-a-half years (renewable), starting on 1 December and Mogherini's term, starting on 1 November, is five years.
