Gunship helicopters kill 32 militants in N.Pakistan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) At least 32 suspected militants were killed and three militant hideouts were destroyed Saturday by military gunship helicopters in North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, said Pakistani military.

According to media wing of Pakistan military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), three militants' hideouts were also destroyed in the aerial attacks carried out by gunship helicopters in Bangi Dar area of North Waziristan.

"During the fighting, 23 explosive laden vehicles and four ammunition dumps were also destroyed," ISPR said in a statement.

Pakistan military launched a comprehensive military operation 'Zarb e Azb' on June 15 following a brazen militant attack on southern Karachi international airport.

Around one million people have been displaced and over 500 militants were killed in the operation so far targeting the foreign and local militants.
