Kuwait- Embassy in Oman reaffirms keenness on serving nationals

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti Embassy in Oman on Saturday confirmed that it spares no efforts to serve the Kuwaiti nationals living in the sultanate, saying this is a national duty.

In a statement received by KUNA here, the embassy said that it is keen on providing full support to Kuwaitis in Oman upon the instructions of First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarallah.

There were reports on social media that the embassy did not provide a care for Adnan Younis Mohammad Ali, a Kuwaiti citizen who was treated at Nizwa Hospital, are totally false, the statement noted.

Ali, who arrived in Oman on August 12 on a private visit, has been ill on August 14; his condition was worse, so he was transferred to Al-Sultani Hospital in Muscat after he was doing better, the statement added. The embassy contacted the doctor responsible for the patient's state in Nizwa and stressed the necessity of transferring the patient to Al-Sultani Hospital for urgent surgery, the statement pointed out.

Jassim Abou Marzouq, Kuwaiti Consular Affairs' official, went to hospital ahead of conducting surgery to check on the patient, the statement said, adding that doctor told Marzouq that the patient' left leg has a gangrene.

"The embassy coordinated with hospital to prepare a private room for the patient, but he preferred not to be alone." "On August 27, the hospital told the embassy over a telephone that the patient moved to a sterilized room upon recommendation of the doctor to be away of any infection as he was suffering from bacterial blood." "The doctor said that the patient should necessarily have a second surgery, which has not been conducted so far, within utmost two days," the statement concluded.
