Ukrainian Cargo Plane Crashes in Southern Algeria


A Ukrainian Antonov 12 cargo plane crashed early today after takeoff from Tamanrasset airport in southern Algeria, the Algeria Press Service (APS) reported.

Quoting aviation sources APS said the plane with seven people on board, crashed minutes after takeoff from the airport of Tamanrasset, an Algerian city in the Sahara, in a mountainous area 15 kilometres south of the airport due to technical failure.

Search for the wreckage of the plane started immediately after the incident, the sources said.
