Turkish President Erdogan Mandates Davutoglu to Form New Government


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has formally asked acting Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to form new government.

Erdogan assigned acting Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to form the country's 62nd government, where Davutoglu will submit the name-list for his new government to Erdogan on Friday, Anadolu News Agency said.

Erdogan took the oath afternoon at the Grand National Assembly in Ankara signaling the start of his five-year term in the top post.

He won the first direct presidential election on August 10th by 52 percent.

Erdogan served as a prime minister since 2003.
