Jordan Interior Minister Meets Dutch Delegation

Jordanian Interior Minister Hussein Majali met on Thursday with a delegation representing the Dutch Council of State to discuss ways to boost cooperation in the security, political and economic fields, as well as the latest developments in the region, mainly the Syrian crisis and its repercussions.

Jordan is pressing ahead with reforms that cover political, economic and democratic sectors, adding that the amendment of many laws has contributed towards accelerating the reform process, Petra news agency quoted him as saying.

The two sides also discussed the influx of Syrian refugees into the Kingdom and its impact on the economic and security situation, mainly in case of communities hosting those refugees.

Majali urged the international community to support the Kingdom to enable it to deal with the impact of the Syrian crisis and provide services to the refugees, according to Petra.

Head of the delegation praised Jordan's humanitarian role in alleviating the suffering of Syrian refugees despite the economic, social and humanitarian problems resulting from the influx of a large number of refugees into the Kingdom.
