Eurozone confidence further deteriorates in August

The European Commission reported said on Thursday that Eurozone confidence further deteriorated in August as its main confidence indicator fell sharply below expectations, still weighed by ongoing political turmoil in Ukraine.

Data from the European Commission showed:

- Economic confidence fell sharply to 100.6 from revised 102.1, analysts expected 101.5

- Business climate fell to 0.16, from previous 0.17, topping 0.10 expected

- Industrial confidence index fell -5.3 from -3.8, missing -4.5 expected

- Consumer confidence index steadied at -10.0

- Services confidence fell to 3.1 from 3.6 a month ago, analysts called for 3.5
