Qatar- Summary of Local News Released Tuesday


A summary of local news released Tuesday by Qatar News Agency.

- HE Foreign Minister's Assistant for International Cooperation Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani conferred Tuesday with a delegation from International Organization for Migration (IOM), including IOM's Chief of Mission in Nepal Maurizio Busatti, and IOM's Chief of Mission in Kuwait Iman Erekat.

- The Dominican Republic Agriculture Minister Luis Ramon Rodriguez met here with HE Qatar's Ambassador in Santo Domingo Khamees Buti Rashid Al-Suhooti.

The meeting dealt with the relations between the two countries and means to promote them, particularly in the fields of investments, agriculture and livestock.

- The Turkish minister of justice Baker Bozdag met here today with HE Qatar's Ambassador to Turkey Salem bin Mubarak Al Shafi.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing them, especially in the legislative and legal fields.

- Qatar's real estate developer, the United Development Company, has announced the renewal of a US$ 210 Million credit facility agreement with a group of banks through its agent the Commercial Bank of Qatar, and authorising its Managing Director to take the necessary procedure for that purpose.

- Gulf Warehousing Company has announced the launch of operations at its Phase 4 expansion in the Logistics Village Qatar. This expansion has added 81 thousand square meters of storage and distribution infrastructure to the facility.

These facilities and logistics structures shall be available to the public on 26/08/2014, the company said in a press release published today in the Qatar Exchange website.

- The Organization of Islamic Dawa's office in Doha and Turkish Foundation for Human Rights, Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (IHH ) signed here today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the fields of humanitarian activities and fight against disasters.

- Qatar Stock Exchange index Tuesday approached the threshold of 14,000 points when it closed trading at 13,906.56 points, up 40.67 points (+0.29%).

The trading value reached QR 734.51 Million with a volume of 13,677,164 shares changing hands from 7,165 transactions today.
