Qatar- Islamic Dawa Signs MoU with Turkish Civil Rights Body


The Organization of Islamic Dawa's office in Doha and Turkish Foundation for Human Rights, Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (IHH ) signed here today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the fields of humanitarian activitiesand fight against disasters.

The MoU was signed by Sheikh Hammad Abdul Qadir , Director of the Organization of Islamic Dawa's office in Doha and Fehmi Bulent, President of IHH.

Under the note, the two entities seek to cooperate to implement development and relief projects in states that have presence or missions working in the areas of rendering development, relief, humanitarian, charitable and health services to those who have been affected by natural disasters and wars, in addition to widowed and divorced women, students, construction of social projects and other charitable and humanitarian activities.

In a press statement after the signing, directors of the two organizations confirmed that the MoU is an embodiment of the common objectives of the two organizations on implementing health, educational and social development and relief projects as well as fight against natural disasters in many countries, especially in the African continent.

Hammad stressed that the note aims to coordinate, distribute work and roles, and exchange experiences in order to achieve the goals of the two organizations.

For his part, President of IHH expressed pleasure at the signing of the memorandum, pointing out that similar notes have been signed with some Qatari national charitable institutions.

He said that IHH has various projects in the African continent and seeks to cooperate and enter into partnership with the Islamic Dawa office in Dona that had field offices in African countries, saying it also seeks to set up new development projects and to improve the existing development and relief projects.

Concluding, Bulent stressed his organization's keenness to strengthen its cooperation with Qatari charitable institutions and organizations due to their expertise and capabilities in the charitable and humanitarian activities.
