ME hotels performance improves in last FY

(MENAFN) Hotels in the Middle East performed better in the past year, registering an increase in revenue and occupancy levels, Arabian Business.

Occupancy across the region increased to 68.9 percent in the last financial year, compared to 67.4 percent registered in the previous year.

This growth in performance was registered despite lower occupancy levels in July, which fell 2.2 percent to hit 47.4 percent.

Even Dubai, which topped the list of the highest cities in rates across the region, recorded its worst month in 18 years this July.

Meanwhile, due to increased stability in Cairo, the city witnessed a high occupancy level, increasing 73.9 percent compared to last year, although it still remained low at 29.3 percent.
