Attack on AntiTaliban Uprising Forces Leaves 2 Dead


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kabul August 26 (QNA) - At least two people were killed following an attack on anti-Taliban public uprising forces in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan. According to local government officials the attack was carried out by Taliban militants in Mardian district. The officials further added that the public uprising forces resisted the Taliban militants attack for several hours but were forced to retreat after their ammunition finished according to the Afghan (Khaama Press). Provincial security chief Syed Zaman Hussaini confirmed the incident and said the victims were close relatives of a commander of anti-Taliban uprising forces. Hussaini further added that numerous Taliban militants had taken part in the attack on public uprising forces. He said Taliban militants also torched the food stock of public uprising forces following the attack. Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far. (QNA)
