Sohar Islamic supports Omani Bahjah Orphan Society


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) In line with its role as an active Corporate Social Responsible organisation which provides support to the requirements and initiatives made for the well-being of the society Sohar Islamic Bank Sohar's Islamic Banking Window has extended a helping hand to the Omani Bahjah Orphan Society. The support was dedicated towards providing children with a monthly allowance for the duration of one year.

The donation was handed over to Abdulrub Bin Salim al Yafai chairman Omani Bahjah Orphan Society Munira Abdulnabi Macki DGM human resources and corporate support at Bank Sohar in the presence of Mazin Mahmood al Raisi AGM and head of marketing and publicity Bank Sohar at Sohar Islamic's Saada branch.

Commenting on the Bank's support Munira Abdulnabi Mackim said 'We have always placed great importance on our contribution to the society. We consider it our moral obligation to contribute towards the care of children and other charitable social health and cultural organisations that are constantly working for the betterment of our community. No child should be deprived of their right for the love care and security provided by a family. Therefore and as a leading corporate member of the society providing ongoing support is essential to give these children hope and a brighter future.'

This donation marks the first time that Sohar Islamic - Bank Sohar's Islamic Window has supported the Omani Bahjah Orphan Society. However Bank Sohar has supported a broad range of other charitable organisations across the sultanate this year including Dar al Atta'a Oman Road Safety Association Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities Creative Centre for Rehabilitation Oman Association for the Disabled in Muscat and Sohar and the Al Noor Association for the Blind in Sohar Salalah and Muscat.

Bank Sohar's CSR initiatives have become an integral part of its operational strategy and as a result it has received several accolades for its CSR efforts over the past years both regionally and internationally. The bank plans to continue in its steadfast quest of philanthropy with many more donations and charitable events planned for the current year.

Thanking Sohar Islamic for its support Abdulrub bin Salim al Yafai chairman Omani Bahjah Orphan Society said 'I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for the strong support we have received from Sohar Islamic. Such generosity will go a long way in helping these children and develop to their full potential.  With such support and hard work and commitment of our staff we can make great strides towards translating our aspiration into a reality.'

Established in February 2014 and based in Dhofar region the Omani Bahjah Orphan Society comprises individuals from the local community who are dedicated to the care of orphans in the region. They are committed towards providing these children with psychological and emotional support as well as coordinating with government entities to fulfill their social educational and health care needs.
