(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Atana Musandam the new resort from Omran's first hotel chain Atana Hotels has opened its doors inviting domestic and international guests to experience Omani hospitality and heritage in its true essence.
The triangular shape of the resort jutting into the sea forming two canals on either side gives guests panoramic views of the azure water and the mountains.
Each element used on the RO12mn-plus property – from the welcome area to the elegantly decorated rooms - exudes the richness of Omani tradition and art.
All the furniture and interior décor items have been made in the sultanate keeping with the hotel chain's theme of 'Proudly Omani'.
Rabih A Abou Mrad general manager Atana Hotels said 'This resort is designed to provide guests with the experience and taste of Omani hospitality. The use of wood for stairs and palm tree ceilings are the common construction elements found throughout the resort.'
He added 'As the aim of the resort was to be sustainable and to create job opportunities for Omanis we have national staff and we believe in engaging the local community. All the materials were bought from local product makers to support SMEs.'
Guests are welcomed in true Omani style with a special dates and labaan drink into the reception area that looks like the majlis of a traditional Omani home with low cemented seats.
The 105 rooms on the property vary from single to double occupancy to two storeyed suites; each room has a traditional Arab summerhouse in the balcony.
Other well-appointed amenities include an all-day restaurant a swimming pool a dive centre a children's club and a spa.

Mrad added 'A large number of travellers from Oman GCC and beyond have been travelling to the north of the sultanate to visit the Musandam peninsula. We encourage travellers both local and international to visit Atana Musandam and experience a new dimension of world-class Omani hospitality.
The average occupancy rate is 65 per cent at present. Usually mid-September to May is the season in Musandam but since our soft opening till date we have had 750 guests from Oman and 598 from UAE. We guarantee our guests tranquility and the best of Omani hospitality. During the Eid holidays we had 100 per cent occupancy at both Atana Khasab and Musandam and it is very heartening for us to see the increasing interest in our properties.'
Atana Musandam is a five minute drive from the Khasab port and takes ten minutes to reach from the airport and is not a licensed property.
