ICC likely to investigate in Gaza, Mosul crimes - Lebanon FM

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Lebanese Foreign Affairs Minister Jibran Bassil said on Monday the General Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) responded to Lebanon's demand to open investigations into the crimes committed by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip and the displacement of Christians by militants in Mosul, north Iraq. He told reporters that he received a letter from prosecutor Fatou Bensouda asking Lebanon to provide the court with additional information relevant to the cruel crimes in the Strip and Mosul. Bassil has earlier sent to the court a letter calling to act judicially against the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the crimes in Mosul. Bassil affirmed that Lebanon supports any Arab and international systems to combat terrorism, calling for discussing this case in the Arab League ministerial meeting slated for September 6-7 in Cairo.
