Malaysia's unemployment rate dips in July


(MENAFN) Department of Statistics Malaysia said that the country's unemployment rate declined in July, reaching 2.8 percent from a month earlier, QNA reported.

Unemployment was expected to rise in July to 3.1 percent, from the 2.9 percent registered in June, as the Malaysian economy has been performing strongly in 2014.

In the first half of the year, Malaysian economy registered a growth of 6.5 percent. Economists in the economy are forecasting an interest rate increase, a sign of an improving economy, by year-end.
