German industrial production dips 1 percent in May

(MENAFN) Data from the German economy ministry showed that German industrial output dropped 1 percent in May over the prior month, Oman Observer reported.

The figures showed that the decline in industrial production came after a 2 percent rise registered in April and worse that a 50 percent decline forecasted by a Dow Jones Newswires poll.

The dip was mainly led by a decrease in the construction sector, highlighting concerns that the recovery in Europe's biggest economy remains fragile on the back of euro zone's crisis.
