Oman's Port of Salalah productivity up 26 percent in 2013


(MENAFN) According to a new study, Port of Salalah enhanced its berth productivity level by 26 percent in 2013 to rank as the 15th best port globally and one of the top container posts in the world, Times of Oman reported.

The port came in as the third top port in the Middle East, Europe and Africa region, achieving an average of 91 gross moves per hour, up 26 percent compared to an average of 71 moves in 2012.

"The Port of Salalah is the country's leading terminal for direct sailing connections to the USEC, Europe, Far East and East Africa, handling between three to four million containers annually over the past seven years," the Deputy CEO at the Port said.
