(MENAFN - Arab News) The Makkah Chamber of Commerce recently moved to assist students to make the right subject choices which will help them in determining their future careers.

The chamber's training committee with the cooperation of the Social Affairs Ministry at Dahyeat Al-Sharei has launched a training program to that effect.

Around 1400 students are expected to benefit from the program in the academic year 2015.

Wadee' Azhar head of the training committee at the chamber said that the meeting focused on the training priorities needed for the progress of the youth.

Dahyeat Al-Sharei a high density area was assessed as an ideal location for the training. The program will help students learn how to choose the best educational path that matches their abilities in the areas of vocational technical and academic education.

'The training programs were designed based on the youth's needs to help them achieve social and personal success' Azhar explained.

The courses will touch on the intellectual professional financial and health needs of students in a way that complements the market needs.

Azhar said that through the training program young people are expected to reach a stage of self-evaluation where they can understand their strengths and weaknesses and determine their future career paths.

Daifalla Al-Nimri a member of the social development committee in Dahyeat Al-Sharei said the collaboration between the two committees will have a positive impact on the social life of the area by enhancing good conduct among people.

Al-Nimri pointed out that youth involved in criminal activities are driven by a lack of proper guidance and support in an environment in need of youth development activities.

Azhar said that the training raises new questions on maintaining intellectual security for youngsters living in a gradually globalized environment with conflicts on all sides.

This topic was seen as crucial in the light of the violations observed during the National Day celebrations where a burgeoning need was felt for recreational activities for the youth.
