(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) A statement from the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) has said that an agreement has been reached over meeting demands of Omani employees at Lulu Hypermarket.
Meanwhile an official MoM source said that the recent meeting which resulted in all parties reaching a consensus on settlement of demands marks the ministry's role in solving disputes peacefully through constructive dialogue to maintain good relations between the parties involved.
The meeting was held at the Directorate General of Labour Welfare and was attended by representatives of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry the General Union of the Workers of the Sultanate of Oman Lulu Hypermarket and the company's trade union.
Employees from across the hypermarket's branches in Oman had struck work for three days from June 26 demanding a hike in salaries an annual bonus better treatment by the management and yearly promotions. They also alleged they were being discriminated against.
Employees wore badges with the line 'On Strike For Our Rights' .
