(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) A young expatriate woman working as a supermarket receptionist has accused a taxi driver and his companion of attempted rape and has filed a complaint with Bausher police.
A colleague of the woman said she had hired the taxi at around 10pm from Al Khuwayr after a party at a cousin's home last week. She was told to sit in the backseat with the driver's companion. She took the front seat but the companion allegedly tried to molest her when the car took off the colleague said. She has received injuries from a scuffle to resist the man's advances and is being treated at a government hospital.
A company official confirmed the incident and told Muscat Daily that they are following the case as the woman has noted down taxi's registration number. Bausher police officials have refused to comment on the complaint.
