China's GDPD profits dip 5.7 percent in H1


(MENAFN) China's GD Power Development Co. Ltd. (GDPD) announced registering a net profit drop of 5.7 percent in the first half to USD480 million, Xinhua reported.

Revenue of the Chinese major power generator fell 2.2 percent on year to USD5.04 billion, according to a company business report.

Thermal power generation profits rose 19.3 over a year, compared to a 20.3 percent drop for hydropower generation.

In the January-June period of 2014, GDPD and subsidiaries produced 87.9 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 3.8 percent from a year ago.
