UAE- Polices summer camp for students ends in Al Ain


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The closing ceremony which was held at the Al Ain Police Officers Club was attended by 80 students along with a number of officers parents.The Abu Dhabi Police have concluded the activities of the “Friends of the Police” summer programme in Al Ain.

The closing ceremony which was held at the Al Ain Police Officers’ Club was attended by 80 students along with a number of officers parents and officials from local authorities in Al Ain city.Speaking at the ceremony Colonel Hareb Khamis Al Khaili Deputy Head of the Clubs Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ said “Children were introduced to their parent’s work environment and their duties in serving and protecting society. They were also encouraged to be creative and innovative.

“The programme included multiple events as well as religious social sports instructional and recreational activities in addition to visits to police sites and stations touristic landmarks and service centres.” All of the club facilities have been prepared for the arrival of the children and provide suitable services to maintain their safety.

Colonel Al Khaili said the programme focused on education and awareness with respect to different and important daily life topics. “Many contests were prepared and prizes were allocated to choose outstanding participants in each activity and event with a view to promoting fair competition and fun among participants.”

He praised the efforts of the various entities that contributed significantly to the success of the programme like the police departments and stations (the Public Relations Department at Al Ain Police Directorate the Medical Services Section and the Ambulance and Rescue Section. He also hailed the participation of the various social entities notably Dar Zayed for Family Care Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC) the Parks and Gardens Department Al Aflaj section Al Ain Equestrian Shooting & Golf Club and Al Ain Farms.

He stressed the need for parents to monitor their children by enrolling them in centres and clubs that provide constructive programmes and activities during summer encouraging them to increase their skills and potential acquainting them with the appropriate activities for them (especially regarding the use of efficient modern technologies) and encouraging them to visit public places that are age-appropriate. In conclusion he said that the various police departments will work to ensure comfort and service.
