(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Riyadh August 21 (QNA) - Saudi Arabia's non-oil commodity exports in June 2014 increased by an amount of SR18676 million up by 14.9 percent compared to the same period of 2013 while imports amounted to SR 51457 million down by 8.2 percent compared to the same period of 2013. A report issued by Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) and carried by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that plastics and rubber products topped the list of non-oil commodity exports during the month of June by 33.42 percent amounting to SR 6241 million followed by chemical industry products by 31.26 percent amounting to SR 5839 million and transport equipment by 9.97 percent amounting to SR 1862 million. According to the report the value of the Saudi Arabia's imports of machinery and equipment electrical appliances increased by 25.69 percent amounting to SR 13217 million; transport equipment by SR 15.95 percent amounting to SR 8208 million; and ordinary metals and their products by 13.38 percent amounting to SR 6885 million. The United Arab Emirates ranked first in terms of the value of non-oil commodity exports by 13.2 percent followed by China 12.20 percent and Singapore by 6.67 percent; while China topped the list of countries importing non-oil commodities by 14.53 percent the United States came in second place by 11.68 percent and Germany by 8.45 percent.
