British retail sale drops to 0.1 percent in July

(MENAFN) British retail sales in July grew at the slowest annual rate since November last year, which adds to the signs that British consumer-led recovery might be beginning to slow, Gulf Daily News reported.

Retail sales volumes monthly growth fell to merely 0.1 percent in July, down from 0.2 percent last month and despite forecasts predicting it to rise to 0.4 percent.

Annual growth in the volume of sold goods fell to 2.6 percent. Sales slowed despite prices falling at their fastest rate in five years.
