Joshua B Lee co-founder of Stand Out Authority was just quoted in a story on Small Business Trends publication. The article is about things not to do when pitching investors and venture capitalists.

Pitching investors can mean the difference between a company surviving or ceasing operations. Getting good at pitching venture capitalists or angel investors for early round funding is a critical skill for entrepreneurs.

Joshua B. Lee of Stand Out authority was just quoted in an article on Small Business Trends website. The article got quotes from standout authority leaders in multiple business industries on seven things you should never say in your pitch to investors.

Lee says “I strive for each of my business startups to be profitable within 12 months. That doesn't happen in every case. I realize it may not be possible for startups in certain ultra-competitive and rapidly innovating industries. Regardless being able to raise money is a critical skill. It doesn't matter what industry you're in… money matters. The adage is true ‘Raise the money before you NEED it'. If an angel investor or venture capitalist gets even a whiff of desperation that you NEED money you're toast.”

Lee's business with Stand Out Authority is to help other entrepreneurs and business executives to raise their busines celebrity in their industry.

Joshua says “I strive to operate with integrity every time. Because of that I like to practice what I preach. We get our Stand Out Authority leadership team featured in as many major media outlets as we can on a consistent basis. One time is nice but doesn't inspire the level of confidence we're looking for. Consistency is the important key.”

Media coverage lends 3rd party credibility to an entrepreneur and their business. It gives them more standout authority in their industry. But at the end of the day ‘the pitch' to the venture capital group or angel investor is what will determine whether the business gets funded.
