(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The International Public Relations Association (IPRA) signed a partnership agreement with Future for Conferences Organisation on managing and organising Oman's first Public Relation Conference. This conference will be held on October 15 and 16 at Crowne Plaza Muscat in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Service.  

The conference will be organised as part of the efforts exerted to develop the public relations concepts in the sultanate and promote this field in the governmental and private sectors with the objective of enhancing communication between the governmental authorities and the citizens. The conference aims to highlight the efforts exerted by different governmental authorities so as to provide accurate information about the services provided by such authorities for the visitors and the best ways of communicating with the community in a way that contributes into exchanging the opinions and ideas so as to ensure achieving public interest.

This first specialised conference of its kind organised by Future for Conferences Organisation aims also to acquaint the officials at the media and public relations departments with the developments witnessed by the Public Relations industry through reviewing experiences from inside the sultanate and abroad. It seeks to exchange the experiences provide more information and successful experiments; as well as identifying the latest updates in the public relations industry around the world. The conference aims to identify the latest means and methods used in communicating media messages in the midst of the communication revolution witnessed currently due to social networking sites and the electronic media.

On this occasion Faisal bin Said al Zahrani president of IPRA GCC branch said 'The organisation of Oman's first public relation conference in the sultanate is a distinguished initiative in itself as it will contribute into developing the public relations profession in the GCC countries. The conference shall develop public relations concepts for the workers in this field in the sultanate. It shall expand the attention paid to this field inside the country and this is the objective of IPRA GCC branch.

'The conference will be organised in the sultanate like the ones in other GCC countries in which similar regional conferences were held during the last few years. It shall be held with the objective of establishing public relations concepts and sustaining their roles in serving the government and private entities' al Zahrani added.

The president of IPRA GCC Branch indicated that such a conference is considered to be a good start for embarking the efforts of developing public relations activities. He expressed his hope that the conference would contribute into creating a turnaround in this important field for all the entities that deal with the public with the objective of expanding co-operation bridges with the public.
