Woman in dock for possessing heroin for personal use


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A Polish manager faced trial in the Court of First of Instance on charges of possessing 0.The 28-year-old was arrested on May 13 by the anti-narcotics division officers of the Dubai Police based on a tip-off that she possessed and was taking drugs.

According to prosecution records and based on the General Department of Criminal Evidence report the defendant’s system tested positive for morphine codeine and cocaine.

An anti-narcotics police lieutenant told the investigating prosecutor that one of their detainees revealed the name of the manager among others claiming she possessed and took marijuana and cocaine. “A police patrol intercepted the manager as she emerged from a mall. The patrol had a woman officer among its members” the lieutenant said in the investigation.

The police officers introduced themselves to the manager and showed her the prosecution warrant to search and arrest her. The manager led the anti-narcotics officers to her house in Jebel Ali.

She denied possessing any narcotics. However the search of her bathroom led the officers to find a suspicious substance believed to be heroin hidden in a small make-up box. “She then admitted that the substance was heroin and said it was for her personal use only. She claimed that she got it from a Sri Lankan man. She also confessed that she had taken heroin and cocaine in her apartment one day prior to her arrest.”

The manager also reportedly admitted to having taken drugs a few days earlier at a party in Dubai.
