(MENAFN - The Peninsula) The Qatar Stars League (QSL) and Prozone yesterday announced the extension of an already existing agreement which started back in 2011.

In addition, the League will see the introduction of VXSport - suppliers the GPS software and hardware for the monitoring of the training sessions of all 14 QSL clubs.

Prozone is a PC based Performance Analysis system that delivers insights by providing accurate, objective and relevant data and information to coaches and players.

Currently Prozone has over 250 clients globally including teams in the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1, as well as leagues and federations such as FIFA, AFC and QSL.

Some of the work that has been done in the QSL over the last couple seasons includes studying trends in the league and benchmarking the QSL against the best leagues in the world.

Prozone has analysed over 800 QSL matches and with the GPS system provided by VXSport it will now be even easier to collect and combine the data captured by both systems and therefore improve the league further.

Ahmad Al Harami, Chief of Competition & Football Development for the QSL, said that he was very happy to once again have Prozone on board with the QSL and that the new agreement would be the most advanced and holistic yet.

Miguel Heitor, Football Development Supervisor for the QSL, Martin Bland- Prozone Business Development Manager - Middle East, and Jamie Tout Director VXSport, were also present at the press conference yesterday.

Bland from Prozone, said: "Our target is to improve the overall level of the competition in the QSL. This means improving the clubs and the players but also the national team as well as the youth system. This agreement, I believe, will help us achieve these objectives."

Tout, Director VXSport, spoke about the agreement from his company's perspective.

"We are an innovative New Zealand company which works with a magnitude of different sports across the world," Tout said.

"In my opinion, this is by far the most innovative project of its kind of any sport across the world and of all the teams that we work with," he said.

"On this scale, it is also the largest of its kind. This shows great synergy from us all because we will be providing a link between the technical, the tactical and physical data and bringing it all together for the benefit of Qatari football," he explained.
