Almost four and a half millennia ago the ancient Egyptians created some of the most enduring monuments of human achievement. The Great Pyramid at Giza is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and how it was built has long been a mystery. Until recently scientists were unable to produce a convincing method for creating such enormous structures with only primitive building tools and systems.
In the past decade however architect Samuel R. Sampson and engineer Michael N. Read have put forth the most plausible theory of how this pyramid was built in their book “Floating Stones: Great Pyramid Built with Water Power.”
After almost a decade of possible refutation the model set forth by Read and Sampson has yet to be discredited. This theory utilizes historical and geological evidence to prove that the ancient Egyptians used water from the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer System to float the massive 40-ton stones up to the build site and set them in place. The theory reveals incontrovertible scientific evidence that the ancient engineers constructed a wall around the Giza site and flooded it allowing workers to use barges to hoist the building blocks with negligible effort. Previous theories which suggested the Egyptians used labor intensive ramp systems have been thoroughly discredited and supplanted by this new theory.
In an effort to disseminate this new theory worldwide Sampson and Read have sponsored a new documentary which will detail the various elements of their model through dynamic animation and narration. To fund this documentary the authors have begun a crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo. For supporters of this compelling new theory this campaign is the opportunity to convince world opinion that this theory is the most likely solution for this centuries old puzzle.
